STUDIES ON PAIN RELIEF

  1. In this article published in the journal of Nursing, April 2020 (1), the researchers gave massage treatments once a week to those post surgical patients and found a significant reduction (54%) in pain intensity scores compared to those that didn’t receive massages. After their massages and an improvement in patients’ emotional well-being and relaxation. The patients also slept better after receiving massage treatments; they fell asleep faster and easier.

  2. In another study published in Annals of Family Medicine in 2014 (2), patients who received a 60-minute therapeutic massage treatment 2 or 3 times per week showed improved neck dysfunction and decreased neck pain compared to patients receiving no massage or fewer or shorter massage sessions.
